So a fortnight after my last adventure on Seat Sandal I was back in the fells.
Another early start meant I had parked up in the car park near Brothers Water at 7:45 and was off walking the length of Brothers Water to get to the start of the first fell of the day. The path alongside Brothers Water is a pleasant start to the day but the objective looms large through the trees!
And there she is. High Hartsop Dodd. The ascent didn't look too bad from the bottom.
But once you are on it, it is relentlessly up. The photo doesn't capture the gradient properly but it was steep and with a cold wind hitting you every so often, really hard work.
The top bit on the picture above is called Bell Knott and there is a bit of a scramble after you follow the path up through the rocks.
After this small section though it flattens out somewhat and you are soon heading to the summit. Fell number 107 conquered and so half the Wainwrights are done!!!!!!!
Not the grandest cairn for my halfway point but it'll do.
